How to plan your visit
- Getting there: in Lille, take the metro (Rihour) or the tram; the centre is busy at weekends.
- Avoiding the crowds: on a weekday in the early afternoon, the market is much calmer than on Saturday evening.
- Budget: entry is free, but food and craft chalets are paid.
- Making a day of it: central Lille is easy to explore on foot; Place Rihour is a few minutes from the Grand’Place and Vieux-Lille. In winter, you can also go bargain hunting: see flea markets in Lille all year round.
