Prohibited items and instructions for visitors
Each year, a municipal order and instructions from the prefecture regulate the Braderie. The most common rules:
- no glass bottles within the perimeter: drinks are served in cups;
- bikes, scooters and skateboards are not allowed in the pedestrian zone;
- bring a small bag: bag checks may take place at the entrances to the secured perimeter (Vigipirate security plan);
- dogs are tolerated but not recommended at busy times.
What a seller can never sell
- weapons, including bladed weapons and replicas;
- counterfeit goods: they are checked for and penalised;
- medicines, dangerous chemicals or fireworks;
- food or drink without authorisation (sales are reserved for authorised traders, see above).
Display your prices, stay within the limits of your pitch and clean it before you leave: the City hands out bags and sets up collection points.
And don’t forget, this year the Braderie de Lille will take place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September 2027!
